The world famous tea & cake stand at the Aquathlon made a total of £126. Proceeds of which go to Daves charity: St. Catherine's Hospice. See below near the bottom of the page if you would like to donate some money.

Congratulations to the Vale Tridents who competed in high temperatures at the Swindon Triathlon, Beckie James 1st & Charlotte James 5th (Tristar 3), Archie Scott 3rd (Tristar 1 Boys), Alissa Clarke 4th and Katie Scott 6th (Tristar 1 Girls.)

Archie had a nasty fall from his bike too but bravely continued!!

Thanks to Megan & her friend for coming along to support them....your cheering was heard all round Swindon apparently!

06 June - Yate Tristars Aquathlon - Archie & Katie Scott, along with Becky, Charlotte, Olivia & William James flew the Vale Tridents flag at this event. Being part of the SW series this event attracted some of the best young athletes in the region. An enjoyable & friendly event.

05/06 June 2010 Blenheim Triathlon - A massive well done to Alec Vessey, and also coaches, Simon C & Mandy for competing in the 2nd largest triathlon in the country. There were 5,500 entries over both days and the good weather brought out plenty of spectators too.

03 May 2010 - Mallory Park DB Max - Well done to Alex Vessey who competed in the Mallory park event finishing in  46 mins 37 seconds in the male youth category finishing 9th in what appeared to be a strongly fielded race.

30 Apr 09 - WEATHER REPORT SUNDAY 02 MAY 2010 - It appears that one of you hasn't been asking the mighty one for good weather, therefore we have been warned that the wet stuff may be falling. Please ensure your children have suitable clothing for racing and afterwards when they are standing around. Adults may wish to hoard around the cake stand drinking tea which I will try to cover!

27 Apr 10 - Alec Vessey wins easily.  Read on.... Well done Mr Alec..

Thought you might like to hear that Alec won the youth event at the Chapel Tristars Aquathlon in Hamble, Southampton this Saturday 24th April. It was a very well organised Aquathlon with everything running on time. Alec had a fantastic swim giving him 50 seconds lead over the next competitor which was his friend Tom Blincowe from Oxford Tri (who also won the Vale Tridents Triathlon last September - they have become very friendly rivals since then also competing in the Oxford Cross Country League over the winter). He managed to hold on to the lead losing 20 seconds on the run but came in 1st with a time of 18:34 with a lead of 30 seconds.
It gave him a lot of confidence after his nasty accident at the Radley triathlon when a cyclist not even in the event turned right without indicating immmediately in front of him and he came off his bike taking most of the skin off his elbow and shin on the tarmac !!  Ouch!

16 Mar 03 - If your interested in what Dave has been up to, have a look at the bottom of the coaches page. Ironman consists of swimming 2.4miles cycling 112miles and finishing with a 26.2 mile run all done hopefully without stopping. Some may find it interesting others may fall asleep just looking at it.

06 March 2010 - Denise Knight, Club Secretary Vale Tridents is awarded Unsung Hero of the Vale Award at the Guildhall Abingdon. This award is in recognition for all the hard work Denise has put in behind the scenes to ensure the club achieved Club Mark status. Her tireless efforts have at last been awarded.  Thanks Denise from all the club, don't sit back though, there is plenty to be getting on with!

RESULTS TRIATHLON 2009

If you like the idea of competing in the ultimate sporting challenge then triathlon could be just the thing for you. Triathlon is a combination of swimming, running and cycling and there are shorter distance races for the younger ones out there.

AGE GROUPS in triathlon; there are different age groups in which individual athletes will compete. Race groups are as follows

Triathlon which involves swim, bike & run:

(The following are maximum race distances): Age as of 31st December 2009. Example: John is 8 at the moment but will be 9 in August so he will be in Tristar 1!

History - formed in October 2007 and is the only Junior Triathlon Club which offers a professional approach to improve the overall techniques and fitness of the athletes across all 3 disciplines with a big emphasis on FUN!
